Eikichi Yazawa (B1M)

My favorite singer is Eikichi Yazawa who I think is an emperor of the Japanese rock music world.
He was born on September 14, 1949 in Hiroshima. When he was three, his parents divorced and he began to live with his father. In 1956, his father died from the effects of the atomic bomb, and he began to live with his grandma in poverty. He did a lot of bad things when he was in a junior high school, but when he was in the 9th grade, he fell in love and stopped doing bad things.
When he was in a senior high school, he bacame a fan of the Beatles and had a dream to be a singer. He graduated the high school in 1969, and he became a member of various amateur rock bands.
Finally he made a debut in a band named 'Carol' in 1972. They made a big hits like 'Funky Monkey Baby.' After having a nation-wide tour, the band broke up. Eikichi then made a solo-debut with a song 'I Love You, OK,' and he was the first rock musician to hold a concert in the Budo-kan in Tokyo in 1977. Next year, his song 'Jikann-yo Tomare' reached the top of the charts, and he became the singer with the highest income of that year. Also, his book 'Nariagari' became a best seller. Since then, Eikichi has been called a super star. In 1994, he played the leading role in a drama 'Ari-yo Saraba.' And last year he again he played the leading role in a movie named 'Ojuken.'
He is now 50 years old and is still working as a singer.

ARASHI (D1F)

ARASHI is a group which is very popular in Japan. They were selected from Journey's Jr., and consist of 5 boys. They made their debut as an image character for the World Cup Volleyball Tournament' 99. The members are Kazunari Ninomiya, 16 years old, Masaki Aiba, 17, Sho Sakurai, 18, Satoshi Ohno, 19 and Jun Matsumoto, 16. They sang a song called 'ARASHI' as an image song for the tournament. This CD sold more than a million copies in Japan.
A drama about volleyball named 'V's Storm' was broadcasted on TV, too.
When a public appearance was held in Tokyo, about 80,000 fans came to see them in Tokyo. There were a lot of girls who could not meet with ARASHI. Also, there are many 'ARASHI' fans in our class.
